Invest In Your People.
Get More Out of Your Organization.

Organizational culture goes far beyond how many outings you have or whether or not you have a ping-pong table in the common area. Organizational culture can support or hinder executing your strategy. It can dictate the quality of your products and services. It can be the difference between retaining and losing top talent.

  • The OCI® empowers your people to create a vision of the ideal culture that would enable them and the organization to execute strategic initiatives, achieve goals, and attain the mission.
  • Its companion, the OEI, measures effectiveness at the individual, group, and organizational levels and identifies the internal practices and conditions that lead to effectiveness both directly and indirectly via the impact they have on culture.

Together, these tools provide leaders and their teams with the data and the language necessary to guide a shift to a culture that enables effective strategy execution, high-quality products and services, and attracting and retaining the best talent for your organization.

ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE INVENTORY® (OCI®)

The product of more than 20 years of research and now using the latest survey technology, the OCI® measures the attributes of organizational culture most closely related to the behavior and performance of members. It reveals what members collectively believe is expected of them and how those behavioral norms influence their engagement and effectiveness—ultimately providing an unmatched foundation for constructively changing organizational culture.

 How it Works

  • The standard OCI measures the current culture of an organization in terms of shared behavioral norms—that is, the behaviors that members believe are required to “fit in” and meet expectations. Members’ responses are combined and profiled on Human Synergistics’ Circumplex to show the relative strength of Constructive, Passive/Defensive, and Aggressive/Defensive norms within the organization.

  • The OCI-Ideal complements the standard OCI by identifying the optimal or preferred culture for the organization. It assesses the behaviors that leaders and other members believe should be expected to maximize effectiveness and enable the organization to reach its goals. The result is a picture of the ideal culture based on shared values and beliefs—a benchmark against which the current culture can be compared to identify gaps and targets for change.

Responses to these surveys are aggregated and electronically analyzed to generate reports that support your organization’s culture shift initiatives. Palmer OSG’s accredited OCI/OEI practitioner, Kiersten Rippeteau*, guides leaders and change teams through the findings and the steps required for successful development and transformation.

The OCI® surveys are available online on almost any digital device as well as in hard copy format.

Organizational Effectiveness Inventory® (OEI)

A partner to the OCI®, the OEI provides valid, reliable, and usable data on the structures, systems, technologies, and skills/qualities that shape your culture—and how they can be modified and developed to improve long-term effectiveness at the individual, group, and organizational levels.

How it Works

The OEI is a survey that gathers confidential feedback from your employees on:

  • Their experience and perceptions of things that influence, and can be changed to improve, your organization’s culture and its performance.

  • The outcomes of your culture for individuals (e.g., their engagement), groups (teamwork), and the organization as a whole (adaptability and overall quality of products/services).

Responses to the survey are aggregated and electronically analyzed to generate a report to support your organizational development or culture shift initiative. When administered along with the culture survey, you are provided with a combined OCI/OEI feedback report that integrates the results of the two assessments. Palmer OSG’s accredited OCI/OEI practitioner, Kiersten Rippeteau*, guides you through the findings and the steps required for successful development and transformation.

The OEI survey is available online on almost any digital device as well as in hard copy format.
